The victory agreement will provide Ukraine with security guarantees until joining NATO

A peace agreement concluded after the victory of Ukraine will determine not only the coexistence of the two neighboring states but also the declining status of the Russian Federation in the global arena, so that Moscow never starts a global continental war in Europe again. Foreign policy expert and co-founder of United Ukraine, Anton Kuchuhidze, shared his vision in an interview for Scalpel: Chronicles of War from ICTV.

The expert noted that in the current conjuncture of the Russian government, there are no leaders who would take a course for the democratization of Russia and the rejection of an aggressive policy toward neighboring countries.

"Even their opposition is pro-government. Even if we recall individual leaders who applied for the post of president in Russia, they had an unambiguous position, for example, regarding Crimea. They had no intention of abandoning their aggressive policy. Therefore, I am sure Russia needs a complete restart as a state. A change of government plus the holding of the first real elections in many centuries. The current government is involved in crime, money laundering, and corruption, and is a parasite on the oil and gas business. That is, it is a large criminal syndicate with nuclear weapons and a seat on the UN Security Council. The problem is that the aggressive model of Russia's foreign policy provides the current regime with personal income and power retention," Anton Kuchuhidze emphasized.

According to him, today exist legal prerequisites and an opportunity to deprive Russia of its status at the international level.

"Depriving the Russians of their status in the UN Security Council will be a component of Russia's existence after its defeat. The peace agreement after the victory of Ukraine will determine not only the coexistence of the two neighboring states but also the declining status of the Russian Federation in the global arena so that Moscow never starts a global continental war in Europe again," said the political scientist.

According to Anton Kuchuhidze, the priority issue of the future peace agreement will be ensuring security guarantees for Ukraine.

"Ukraine has been saying for many years that our [the West's] security systems are geographically, logically, and politically interconnected, but the West didn't hear it. Today, everyone understands that Europe will have a strong Ukraine with a powerful army. New agreements are needed to protect the country, which has become a shield for Europe and NATO. Of course, the key issue will be the status, role, and fulfillment of these security guarantees for Ukraine. That is, most likely, there will be an agreement that will exist until Ukraine joins NATO," the expert emphasized.
